Tarot for Health and Wellness
by Pushtiie
Health is the third most sought after area of guidance after Romance and Career, in that order. At the thought of health we almost always think of physical health. So we think of a doctor. But we forget that health can also be mental, emotional and spiritual. When we look at all these things together, we are finally talking about total health. That is where a tarot reader would come into the picture. Yet… the question is: how would getting a tarot reading done help my health concerns? And would it actually help at all? I say it would. I can confidently say that it already has.
Let me give you an example of a lady that came to me with a vague inexplicable pain in her lower back. On reading her cards I found that her tailbone was under so much pressure due to her weight that it was about to snap in the next few days, which was the reason for the pain in that area. The aura around that area had become very mucky. Unfortunately, due to a lack of action on the reading, her tailbone got fractured.
Here the tarot had already gathered the energy of the person and the situation and projected it into the next 14 days, {that’s all I had asked for}. It saw that if things continued the way they were at that moment, with the same energy, this is what would come of it. This is a case of the tarots diagnostic abilities. But it fulfills a lot of other functions as well.
To explain this further let me explain a certain spread that I use a lot since it encompasses all the aspects of health. Widely called the Chakra Spread, it is also found under various names that have a certain variation in, either the number of cards and positions, or the meaning of the positions. The basic seven cards are what we will talk about here. Each card relates to a specific chakra in our body and relates its total health. We roughly know that there are seven chakras in our bodies and each one of them has a certain function and a color corresponding to it. For example: the 4th chakra is called the Heart Center. It corresponds to our emotions and feeling and in physical terms the heart itself as well as a few organs in the surrounding areas. So the card that I get in this position would tell me all about how the energy of that chakra is behaving, the physical aspect as well as the emotional and spiritual faculty level.
Lets say, I have the 2 of cups in this position. Now, I could infer that this man’s emotions are open and beautiful. He probably has the maturity to handle relationships, although initially just jumps out of sheer infatuation. Spiritually he has gone to a level where understanding love for the higher good of existence is becoming more natural for him. His heart has opened up and he is very accepting. The blocks are rapidly dissolving if they have not already dissolved. Physically the heart is in shipshape.
Thus every card is read in great detail and at times relations are formed between two or more cards to come to a deeper understanding of how the entire Chakric System is functioning. If here is a position that shows a dysfunction, it is easy to find a solution. Most of the time the solution is contained in that very card while at other times one has to pick out another card for that specific purpose. Let’s say, I have the 8 of Wands in he 6th position. This position is called the 6th sense or Third Eye Center. It would relate to the head, thought patterns and spiritually to how much that individual has worked upon his intuitive faculty. This card would indicate that he person thinks to fast and does not know how to slow down. The need for speed and suddenness drives him. It would also mention that sometimes he might get irrational, impatient, nervous and jittery. Physically, there stands a chance that this individual gets head/brain related problems. Spiritually, he probably gets insights in spurts, gets visions or flashes once in a while but the faculty is not completely developed.
If one looks at this case carefully it is easy to realize that it is the individuals need for speed that is causing him all the trouble. Thus to heal this Chakra what he essentially needs to do is slowdown. So the suggested remedy could be either meditation or breathing exercises or even counseling. Or may be an awareness intensive would help to get to know his thought patterns. There are many ways to heal the case but it depends on what the reader feels will work for that individual at that moment.
These were some examples that showed that tarot could help health concerns. There are many other ways and it depends on how insightful the reader is to be able to give the client the maximum. There are various spreads and specific card decks that will aid this process. In spite of all these wonderful discoveries, the most important thing to remember is that no matter what, this is just a tool that helps by the side, it is not to replace any sort of medical treatment or diagnosis.
