A promising face on the small screen, this fashion designer-turned actress’ achievements speak for her. She has done a lot of theatre before she joined the television bandwagon. She has acted in serials like Sanjeevani (Star Plus), Chudiyaan (Sony) and many more. Currently, seen in Sony’s Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, she has bagged her first Rajshri Productions’ film. We asked her whether she let his ruling stars be affected by astrology. This is what she had to say…
Do you believe in astrology?
Yes, I believe in astrology. But, I am not driven by it. I believe that all of us are here on this planet to make our own destiny. We should not let any force rule our lives. But, yes, I do believe that there is a science called astrology which has a lot of power and conviction.
To what extent do you attribute truth to these predictions?
Most of the times, I want to believe in the predictions. But, like I said, I do not want to blindly follow something. Be it an advice or a suggestion. I listen to all the inputs given to me. But, I use my brains also. It is important to rationally analyze a situation and then decide what is best for you.
Do you think a person “restricts” his actions in future if his predictions are made known before hand?
Definitely, a person does restrict his actions because he is afraid of something that might happen to him. I feel that a person should be cautious but not 100%. If we live with a fear on our minds all the time, we are surely going to be restricting ourselves and making sure we do everything in order to not let that negative prediction come true.
Have you ever visited an astrologer? What has the experience been like?
I have been to so many astrologers. My mother believes a lot in this. They all have the same story to tell. All the astrologers say is that, ” Don’t worry. Everything will be fine in 3-4 months.” They advice me to continue working hard because that will only get me where I want to be - at the top.
Any suggestions you implemented that may have had a positive or negative impact on your success story?
One astrologer told my mother that I must wear pearls. I have followed his advice and I wear two pearls, one for fame and the other one for piece of mind. I cannot say whether it has helped or not, because I am afraid of giving credit to it.
Any incident that has strengthened your belief in this “power”?
I have always believed in it. It is because of my mother. She believes a lot in this science and visits astrologers very often. My father does not believe in this study but my mother’s meetings with various astrologers often influence my decisions.
Any astro-advice for your fans?
I just want to say that you should listen to everyone. Lend a ear to everything anyone has to say to you. But, eventually, use your discretion and do what you think is right. The secret to success is hard work. You must put in your 100% and make your own destiny. It is important to be patient in life. That is how you will be able to achieve everything you want.
